High-quality sensors

spexor's heart

In order to recognize burglaries, sensors will check for changes to air pressure, acoustics, and movement in the monitored area.

The high-quality sensors and combined signal evaluation are to minimize false alarms by letting spexor react only when it recognizes multiple changes in the environment. Among other things, this is to prevent spexor from raising the alarm if a passing truck makes your parked car shake. spexor will only react is someone actually breaks into your car and other ambient parameters change as well, such as air pressure due to the opening of a door. If no obstacles such as walls, tall furniture, books, etc. are restricting the sensor recording area, spexor can cover a radius of 5 m around the device.

It makes the most sense to place spexor where a potential intruder typically passes by. To efficiently extend the protection range, place the device centrally between or at potential intrusion points or areas where forced entry is not feasible, e.g. stairs and corridors. Of course, for several separate rooms you can use multiple spexor devices.

spexors communication technology

Communication

Impressive inner workings

spexor uses various standards for cellular mobile telephony and wireless data transmission: Bluetooth for setup, Wi-Fi and GSM for operation. In addition, location data can be retrieved via the GPS module and, due to the integrated eSIM card, the device is always online wherever mobile phone reception is possible. In the first year we give you the mobile connection as a gift, from the 13th month on it can be added for €11.99 per year.

  • Bluetooth is only required for setup.
  • spexor sends the alarm to your smartphone via Wi-Fi or via the integrated SIM card.

spexor longlasting battery

Battery

Unfettered freedom

spexor comes with a very powerful rechargeable battery that can tolerate temperatures from -10° C to +60° C. As soon as the battery needs to be charged via the micro-USB port, spexor informs you on your smartphone. The runtime depends on the ambient temperature, among other things, but especially on whether you have activated the power-saving mode or not:

Power saving mode is activated:This is the default setting. The battery should last as long as possible, but it may take up to 15 minutes to activate monitoring. By communicating with the server in the background (backend) only every 15 minutes, spexor saves power.

Power saving mode is deactivated:If you flip the switch, the power-saving mode is deactivated. spexor will react just as quickly as when it is connected to the power grid and the activation of monitoring or the installation of updates is on average much faster. But beware: this also leads to a reduction in battery capacity and spexor needs to be charged more frequently. If you are using spexor with the power saving mode deactivated, we recommend connecting your alarm device to the power supply permanently.

It is possible to extend the battery life in the permanently activated power-saving mode with an external power bank.

spexor is quality made in germany

Safety made in germany

spexor is designed, developed and produced in Germany

spexor is produced in a Bosch factory in Germany, because we attach particular importance to sustainable production, short logistics distances and assurance that the Bosch promise of quality is kept.

With a height of around 11,4 cm (4.4 inches), a diameter of less than 7 cm (2.75 inches) and a weight of just under 337 g (11.8 ounces), spexor has been deliberately designed to be small and handy. Its robust housing made of sturdy plastic protects the sensitive internal components, e.g. the high-quality Bosch sensors.

The mobile app for spexor

App

Full control at all times

When used in conjunction with the accompanying app, spexor is very easy and intuitive to operate. The app is free for all spexor users and can be downloaded from Google Play Store or the Apple App Store. The app then guides you through the individual steps of a simple installation process, after which spexor is ready for use within minutes.

spexors alarm

Alarm

Always the right alarm option

You decide how spexor reacts in case of an alarm. The device itself can either sound a loud alarm to directly deter possible burglars. Or it can remain silent and inform you discreetly.

The loud alarm reaches a SPL of up to 70 - 80 dB(A) while the LEDs simultaneously flash red.

The distance to your smartphone has no influence on the alarm or the alarm message. Thanks to the integrated eSIM card, an alarm message is sent to the Bosch data server, which is then automatically forwarded to your smartphone when a mobile or Wi-Fi connection is available.

Activation and deactivation of monitoring with the device

spexor's alarm can also be activated or deactivated at any time with your own defined 4-digit PIN on the bottom of the device. That way you can quickly turn off the alarm, even if you have misplaced your smartphone for a moment or your phone is at the bottom of your bag.

Frost or heat alarm

Temperature alarm

Frost or heat warning

You can now set your individual temperature alert with spexor. Don't want the plants in the shed to freeze or the car interior to overheat? You will be informed via push notification when the room temperature exceeds or falls below a certain value. You can define this value in the spexor app. For the frost alert, the setting is from 10 to -10 degrees °C, the heat alarm goes from 20 to 60 °C.

Please note that the values for temperature and humidity - and thus also the alert function for frost and heat - are temporarily unavailable when spexor is charging its battery. Learn more about this in our FAQs.

spexors communication technology

Air quality measurement

More safety through VOC measurement

Bad air quality not only causes headaches and can make you tired, and stale air can contain minute droplets and aerosols that are potential virus carriers. spexor helps you to contain virus transmission inside, and can also give you a gentle reminder when it’s time to ventilate the room: the app or the LEDs on the device show the current air quality – green (good air quality), orange (worsening air quality) or red (low air quality).

The gas sensor in spexor detect almost all organic, gaseous compounds in the air that can be dangerous. It measures the concentration of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) every 30 seconds. These include gases that are produced, for example, during respiration, but also as a result of perspiration, cooking, cleaning or outgassing from new carpets as well as furniture. The sensors measure hundreds of different contaminants. spexor thus reacts much more sensitively than measuring devices that consider the CO₂ value alone.
